犊子

(犢子, 犊子)

Vatsa, the founder of the[lang id =1028]犢子部, Vātsīputrīyas (Pali Vajjiputtakas), one of the main divisions of the Sarvāstivāda (Vaibhāṣika) school; they were considered schismatics through their insistence on the reality of the ego; "their failure in points of discipline," etc.; the (sa) vinaya as taught by this school "has never reached China".
